Pavel Mrkus enriched the gothic ambitious red audiovisual installation

The magnificent red audiovisual installation by Pavel Mrkus has completed the exhibition In that housel Thou art all runishly currently taking place in the gallery of the Archdiocesan museum Olomouc. The author took advantage of the spatial and meaning disposition of the gothic cloister of the Bishops Zdiks Palace, revived by the dynamic wall painting and sound, following the pattern of traditional wall paintings. Unique shadow play and lights can be admired by the Archdiocesan museum until July 2.

"I am connecting here the two worlds that we must continue to leapfrog, namely the digital and the stone, real world. We must be able to cope with them, even if the digital one constantly attacks the real one, "Pavel Mrkus explained.

The idea to address Pavel Mrkus came from the author of the exhibition In that housel Thou art all runishly, Michaela Ottová and Helena Zápalková: "From the beginning we thought we would expand the exhibition to contemporary art. Pavel Mrkus is known for his specific audiovisual projects that work with the specific space, its structure and momentous moments, and the impression of the Kinesis installation, which he created less than two years ago for the Church of Sts. Salvator in Prague, it occurred to us that in a similar way it was possible to work with a gothic ambush. We are very glad that the author has accepted our challenge, "said Helena Zápalková.

The projection itself is named R.E.D. and it is reflected in its form. The medieval space has flooded red. Also in it, Pavel Mrkus sees a great symbolism.

"Red is interesting by being symbolic on all sides. Whatever it refers to signaling warning lights, red light on the photocomor, or the color of blood, chasuble, revolution, red wine, or hell or red lantern, always means something extraordinary, requiring special attention.
