Michal Sklenář will present his new book Built in Spite of at the MUO

The historian and theologian Michal Sklenář will present his new book, Built in Spite of, in Olomouc. The Emergence of New Roman Catholic Religious Buildings in the Czech Lands 1948-1989.

Together with the curator emeritus of the MUO Ivo Binder and the reviewers of the monograph, theologian Pavel Kopeček and historian Jaroslav Šebek, they will discuss the situation of the Roman Catholic Church in the second half of the 20th century in communist Czechoslovakia, contemporary sacral construction and sacred art.
