Bishop Charles Parament enriched the permanent exhibition of the Archdiocesan Museum

NEWS | JULY 12. 2019

The Treasury II, the permanent exhibition of the Archdiocesan Museum, is a precious parametent of Bishop Karl of Lichtenstein-Castelcorn. The unique worship service designed for the celebrating bishop and assisting priest was made sometime before 1691 and probably served for the liturgical celebration of the cathedrals patron saint. Wenceslas. “This is also evidenced by the red liturgical color, which is the color of blood, symbolizes suffering, martyrdom and sacrifice. Its use thus belongs, besides the Good Liturgy, mainly to the feasts of martyrs, ”explains Helena Zápalková, curator of the permanent exhibition The Glory and Praise II.
