The largest image of St. Wenceslas found asylum in Opava

Olomouc, August 21, 2014

A happy ending story of the biggest painting of St. Wenceslas, who in 1844 painted by the Viennese painter Anton Petter together "finished typing" Archbishopric of Olomouc, Olomouc Museum of Art and the city of Opava. More than eight meters high and five meters wide canvas that had originally adorn St. Wenceslas Cathedral in Olomouc, but instead moved to 160 years to land the Archbishops Castle in Kromeriz, namely to find asylum in Opava church. Wenceslas. The restored image will be presented on September 6 in the National launch of the European Heritage Days.
