The tablets with Bishop Karel amused the experts

NEWS | 29. 8. 2017

Teachers, museum instructors and also conservationists took the last weekend of August to Kroměříž. The National Monument Institute, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education of the Charles University and the Olomouc Museum of Art, organized the Summer School of Monument Education.

"The purpose of the meeting was to deepen my knowledge in the workshops and to acquire new skills in the interpretation of cultural heritage," said Petr Hudec, one of the organizers of the event.

One of the focal points of the first day of the meeting was the presentation of the family application in the tablets of Bishop Karels Senate. The participants of the school went through the castle under the leadership of Karl of Lichtenstein-Castelcorn and tried the various tasks and games he had prepared for them.

"The app liked everyone. Especially teachers were enthusiastic about it in terms of teaching the younger generation. Above the application, we also discussed how to improve it, "Hudec said, adding that the application refers visitors to UNESCOs context, unlike in the Olomouc Archdiocese Museum, which is more dedicated to individual specimens.

Marsyas and Vlnas

The highlight of the entire Summer School of Monument Education was a lecture by Vit Vlnas on the subject of Tizians Apollon painting punishing Marsya.

"Vít Vlnas is one of the biggest Czech Baroque experts, so his lecture on the famous Tizian painting was a great experience for all," said Petr Hudec.
