The first meeting of high school students from Olomouc, Cracow, Bratislava and Pécs who cooperate on the project Art & Contemporary Me took place on November 23 - 26 in Olomouc Museum of Art. During the multifarious programme the students got the opportunity to try playing the role of an entertainer / educator, to try the job of a journalist or reporter and to create posters and magazine covers. 

The meeting started on Friday evening with presentations prepared by the students teams in advance. "Each team was asked to choose and write up a social-historical topic with a national or regional focus overlapping with the time period of the traveling exhibition Years of Disarray 1908-1928 before coming to Olomouc. The main task was to create a Wikipedia-article on this topic," explains Terezie Čermáková, the author of the concept of the education programme. The particular creative workshops provided many different ways of approach to acquired information. "The students got the opportunity to look at their topic form different points of view and to discover relevant motives and visual symbols behind the simple information," adds Čermáková. 

 This international programme was realized thanks to successful participation of Olomouc Museum of Art in the fund programme Creative Europe - Culture with its project Art & Contemporary Me: Artwork as a medium building European identity. This project includes the exhibition Years of Disarray 1908-1928, the accompanying scientific publication and conferences and many educational programmes focused on strong and unique experience of individuals with artworks.

"The international education programme was created to start up an intercultural dialog about the shared European cultural heritage among the general public and professionals," mentions the project coordinator Jana Macháčková. "The core of the programme is presented by the four international student meetings taking place during 2018-2020 according to the traveling exhibition Years of Disarray 1908-1928 organised by Olomouc Museum of Art and the partners Bratislava City Gallery (SVK),  International Cultural Centre in Cracow (POL) and Janus Pannonius Museum in Pécs (HUN)."
