Is he there or not?

NEWS | April 27, 2017

We are opening another active zone for the exhibition. You are all secretly in the Archdiocesan Museum. Visitors will show their own opinion using a simple act - nailing the nail into the wood.

"An active zone this time is the installation of an object that will be able to co-create visitors, gradually growing into a spiky shape thanks to the nails," said Marek Šobáň, head of the education department.

Using nails, visitors will answer the question whether they believe or disbelieve that the body of Jesus Christ is present in the host. "It is an attitude to the idea of whether the Eucharist is a means of presenting the body of Jesus Christ to the earth, or, on the contrary, as a part of a ceremony that is alien to them, such a movement of mind can change the depth of viewer participation in the imagined scenes, The overall perception of works of art," added Šobáň.

The thought process that takes place inside can remain concealed or can be pronounced and even materialized into a simple act. The wooden object placed on two wooden supports refers to its altar mantle where the miracle of the Eucharist takes place, but also to the Passion of Christ where the wood, rope and nails change into torture instruments.
