Between the East and the West | SS. Cyril and Methodius in the Culture of the Czech Lands

A summary of the cultural, historical and artistic aspects of the 1,150th anniversary of the mission of SS. Cyril and Methodius to Moravia, with particular attention to the Olomouc and Moravian context of fine arts. This is a brief characterisation of this exhibition which, together with an accompanying monograph, presents the issue of the devotion to SS. Cyril and Methodius and its tradition in the art in the Czech Lands in the long period from the 10th to the 21st century. The exhibition project commemorating the anniversary of SS. Cyril and Methodius and prepared under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic comprises four major events: exhibitions in the Moravian Museum in Brno and the Olomouc Museum of Art, and conferences held at Charles University in Prague and the Academy of Sciences in Brno.
