Josef Vinecký (1882–1949) | An artist of the pure truth of form and matter

This comprehensive exhibition is a complex art historical survey of the work of an unjustly neglected representative of the European artistic and art education avant-garde who developed his creative activities in 1902–1936 in Germany (Weimar, Unterweißbach, Wiesbaden, Breslau, Berlin) and later on in former Czechoslovakia (Bratislava, Prague, Olomouc). Each of the creative periods of the artist, who was a student and assistant of Henry van de Velde at the turn of the 20th century, is presented in the exhibition by a collection of practical articles and sculptures preserved in both public and private collections at home and abroad. Some of the immovable works of the artist are documented by a series of large photographs. The exhibition is accompanied by a monographic publication.
