Severin Tischler | Late Baroque sculptor on the border between Moravia and Bohemia

Sculptor Severin Tischler ranks among the outstanding representatives of the late baroque sculpture in Czech Lands. For a long time his artistic personality remained in the shadow of his contemporaries, even though he was exceptionally talented and prolific sculptor, that can be seen at this exhibition, which is the first collected presentation of the extensive creation of the author. Major part of the exhibited works, coming mostly from Moravian and East Bohemian churches, has not yet been presented to art lovers out of the ecclesiastical premises for which they were created.
