Stanislav Kolíbal ranks with the most important representatives of Czech conceptual art. His widely spread work including sculpture, objects, installations, drawings, graphics, but also illustrations and stage designs are among the fundamental values of Czech postwar art culture. Essential for Czech art Kolíbalová environment is also a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and his essays and editorial work for De Arte series, published by Arbor vitae. Kolíbalová essays on art, written in beautiful language, one of the gems of contemporary Czech art of the essay.

Extensive work, based on the tradition of modern European figuration, arrived in the 60s to the position philosophically anchored investigating phenomena, such as weight - immateriality, softness or sharpness of shapes, stability - instability, which contrasts evokes feelings of insecurity of our perception of art forms. Grandaddy thematisation stability and instability is over two and a half feet high, geometrically conceived stainless steel sculpture Fall I of 1967, which is seen in the second part of the permanent exhibition A Century of relativity.
