Václav Králíčeks graduate project provides early evidence of his interest in High-Technology architecture, represented in the Czech environment by the Sial group. After utopian projects, on a par with the world’s Hi-Tech architecture (Yony Friedman, Japanese Metabolists, English Archigram), this Liberec group of architects later designed projects that drew international attention. Králíčeks project was attractive because of its ambiguity - on one hand he wanted to protect the charming but endangered Prague quarter of Žižkov, while on the other hand in a hyperbolic way and through his chained structures which surpassed the trascended development, he confirmed his passion for utopian visions of the future. 

This thesis project by the future Sial member ensured that the focus of the collection would be on works of the second half of the 20th century. Acquisitions of works by the Sial studio are related to a project from 2010 as well as a publication which presents the work of this exceptional group for the first time. For its attractive graphics, it was awarded the title of Most Beautiful Czech Book in the category of Scientific Literature.
