The Koxy armchair was part of the Koxy furniture set (armchairs, sofas, stools), presented by Jan Čtvrtník (1975) in 2004 at the Arts and Crafts College in Prague as his diploma thesis. In the same year the set was awarded the National Prize for Student Design and won the competition Journey in Time, Journey into the Future, announced by the mminterier firm. The processing of the drawing sketches on the computer modelling programme Rhino enabled the finishing of all details, including those in upholstery, the openings in the concave surfaces of the armchairs, while keeping the ergonomic principles, the colour scheme, etc. The work was executed in the mminterier workshop in Luhačovice, headed by Miroslav Maňas.
