Kroměříž Archdiocesan Museum was founded on June 20, 2007. Its headquarters is the former summer residence of the Olomouc bishops and archbishops - Kroměříž castle. The exhibition Bow & Lyre is the first attempt to introduce the public on the choice of what they have the opportunity to see visitors Kromeriz Castle, but this time also cross all areas of the castle in the collections, which are a set of undisputed world artistic level.

The beginnings of a unique collection, which now has about 135,000 artefacts, mainly related to the personality of Bishop Charles II. of Lichtenstein-Castelkorn (1664-1695). The most important and the most files belong in Kromeriz undoubtedly painting collection. The core of the collection came from the collections of the executed Charles I, King of England and Lord Thomas Howard of Arundel (eg. Titian, Veronese and others.).
